| someone please critique my LIT rough draft. i need help. |

A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away…There lived the greatest hero in the history of the universe. His name was Luke Skywalker. Luke Skywalker is the splitting image of the literary archetype epic hero. He is a hero because he faces a tragedy that changes his life forever, he is courageous, and he is very gifted.
Luke's story begins like many other epic heroes. He is born into danger and because of this he is sent to live with his aunt and uncle for his own safety. However, he is not completely safe. With the battles between the Rebels and the Empire going on, tragedy strikes. The enemy finds out about two very important droids that hold Rebel base informant that Luke purchased and traces them back to his aunt and uncles house. Luke is gone when this happens and when he returns he finds everything burnt down and his aunt and uncle are dead. Having no reason to stay now, Luke makes a courageous decision; to join the rebels and fight the Empire led by Darth Vader.
The quote, "Courage is not the absence of fear, but the conquest of it," (Mckenzie 114) describes Luke's daring attitude. He knows that danger awaits him but is not afraid to face it. Not only does Luke want to take the empire down, but he a certain amount of female intervention comes into play. Luke is attempting to swoon a certain someone by the name of Princess Laya throughout the journey. (Upcoming events will make Luke realize that Laya is actually his sister, and that is why he always felt a close connection with her.) Luke is very selfless. He is honored to be apart of the rebellion and is always volunteering to do whatever he can to help, no matter how perilous it is. Luckily for Luke, he is very gifted and ready to take on what comes his way.
Luke uses not only his skill in piloting but a special gift when battling the Rebellion. When it comes to hand to hand combat, Luke has a very special weapon; the prominent light saber. He receives this from a very special Jedi Master named Obi Wan Kenobi, who is also teaching Luke to become a Jedi. Obi Wan, being a hero himself, shows Luke the ways of a very special supernatural phenomenon; the Force. Luke combines his skills in piloting and uses his guidance from the force and succeeds in destroying the Death Star, an Empire ship where the dark side of the Force is found. By doing this Luke proves himself to the Rebellion that he is valuable to their fight against the Empire,
If you are looking the greatest and most honorable hero, Luke Skywalker blows everyone else out of the water. He matches every characteristic that a literary archetype epic hero has right down to the last grain of sand on Patooine. Luke has to deal with tragedies and because of the courage and special gifts he possesses, still comes out triumphant in the end. |

UGH.
so. yesterday me and my dad talked about me getting my license and what not. because in 2 months ill be eligible to get it. and we talked about what i would drive. now there are 3 people currently living in my house. and we have 3 vehicles. so it wont be a problem. and my dad said that if i paid for insurance all by myself he'd give me the red honda accord. so i went job hunting today for like 5 hours and went and got at least 12 applications and turned in like 8 or 9. and got asked to come back tomorrow for an interview at pizza street. so my dad called cuz hes out of town and i told him and hes like "i dont want you working too much while you are in school" and that he never said he'd give me the car. WTF?! YEAH YOU DID. AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH. "just because you own the car doesnt mean id let you drive it any more or less" "im not just going to sign over the car to a 16 year old" i love how all my other friend's parents buy them brand new cars when they are only 15 and i cant even get an old honda that we already have. and he doesnt even appreciate how hard i tried getting a job today.
SO. PISSED. OFF. |
